The NDIS Price Guide was updated on 22 October. There were no actual changes to prices, nor the addition or deletion of support items. The Price Guide was just updated with additional information. We have summarised the changes for you below.

Geographic classifications

From 25 October 2020, the NDIA is moving from the Modified Monash Model (MMM) 2015, to the MMM 2019 for classifying regional, remote and very remote locations. This means the geographic classifications of some locations will change. It also has an impact on pricing arrangements, including whether providers can access the loadings for services delivered in remote and very remote areas.

You can view the locations which have changed classifications in the Annual Price Review. Some locations have moved up a classification, while others have moved down. To determine the MMM rating of a location, use the Health Workforce Locator tool on the Department of Health website.

The NDIA has also modified the classification of some ‘isolated towns’ since the Annual Price Review in June.

Psychosocial recovery coaches

Psychosocial recovery coaches can now claim for report writing which falls under ‘NDIA Requested Supports.’ This is one of four activities providers can claim for in addition to direct service provision.

New ‘Irregular SIL Supports’ claim field for providers

There is a new claim field in the myplace provider portal for ‘Irregular SIL Supports.’ This is to be used when an SIL support is provided in unexpected or unplanned circumstances. An example may be a participant falling ill, or the cancellation of a day program. In these circumstances, a participant will be in their home and may require SIL supports for a period that was not planned and rostered for.

Claims are made using the relevant support item, using the “Irregular SIL Support” option in the myplace portal.

SIL Providers must meet certain conditions to claim for Irregular SIL Supports. You can look at these conditions in the Price Guide.
